Capturing neighborhood images through photography

Abstract

This paper seeks to present and discuss a specific methodological approach based on photography, which draws on a method that combines auto-photography during photo-walks with photo-elicitation interviews. The method was used in the framework of a study that explored how families, living in the city of Geneva, Switzerland, make sense of their everyday practiced space, and how this informs us on knowledge about neighbourhood images in the context of lived space.
