Quanti di Identità. Sulla ragione e funzione del Metodo applicato alla progettazione di Sistemi di Identità.

Abstract

This article starts with a provocation, to consider the theme of visual identity applied to places and communities as a discontinuous and granular matter, which cannot be recounted according to univocal and simplifying narrative processes. Hence the title Quanti di Identità (Quantum of Identities), where the parallel with quantum physics refers precisely to the need to develop working methodologies based on design ethnography. Here we call them Design Actions, carried out in the field that are able to bring out those quantum of identity that would otherwise be undetectable, through the interaction and direct involvement of the users to whom the project is addressed. We consider this field of research as the basis of the Design Methodology course at ISIA Urbino and that through the work developed by groups of students in an extracurricular space to which we have given the name RUMORE-ISIA U. Here, experimental projects are applied in the field, the results of which are compiled into guide manuals, the images accompanying the text of which convey the substance, achieving results that allow us to have a visual, editorial, methodological and qualitative data on the validity of the theses from which we start and which are illustrated below.
