Bucarolito: Re·generation
Abstract
Bucarolito was a collective action carried out in Little Haiti, Miami. It was the fourth action in a series of works called Litofagos, based on the absorption of stone in which a group of ninety people ingested Miamian clay in the form of “Búcaros”. These ceramic vases were replicas of the ceramics referred to as “Búcaros de Indias” by the royal family and aristocracy, which they ate in Spain during the 16th and 17th Century as part of their system of beliefs.
