Abstract

Fridge, existential container” is the first result of the permanent workshop of ethnography of the material culture (LAECM), an activity organized by Scuola di specializzazione in Beni demoetnoantropologici dell’università degli studi di Perugia (in convenzione con le Università della Basilicata, di Firenze, di Siena e di Torino) and coordinated by Francesca Sbardella and Mario Turci.

Through four short ethnographies, the research tries to analyze the relationship between the individual and his refrigerator and to investigate the role of this appliance as an existential container and as an object in which people, in a different way, pour part of their daily life and their lives.
